Top 10 Friday... Horror Heroes

Welcome to our Top 10 Friday! This being Friday the 13th, we felt it only fitting to run down our top 10 comic book horror heroes (believe us, there are plenty of horror villains, but heroes are a trickier bunch). These characters run the gamut from demons to vampires to witches, but all can be found in the pages of a comic book. We tried to steer clear of movie-based horror characters, which would be opening a can of worms, and stick strictly to the printed page. First things first though, here are three creepy collectibles to get you in the right mood for the 13th.

Ooze-It (1981)

Ooze-It
This stretchable, oozy toy from the early 1980s has become a very rare and highly sought after collectible these days. Ooze-It, the fugly green alien, included a bottle of slime, which you could fill Ooze-It with and then squeeze him and watch red goop drip out of the holes in his face (hole plugs included). One of the more unique toys from the '80s.

Freddy Krueger Re-Action figure, Funko

Freddy Krueger Re-Action figure by Funko
Funko has released a plethora of Re-Action figures, done in the style of classic Star Wars figures and covering a range of properties, such as Goonies, Big Trouble in Little China and horror classics like Nightmare on Elm Street. Naturally, Freddy comes equipped with his signature hand knives.

Jason Voorhees Premium Format figure, Sideshow Collectibles

Jason Voorhees Premium Format figure by Sideshow Collectibles
Sideshow is one of the premier manufacturers of quality collectibles, from statues to premium format figures such as this terrifying rendition of Jason Voorhees from the "Friday the 13th" films. Jason holds his reliable machete in this intricately detailed, high-end collectible.

OK folks, on to our...
