Dragons are all the rage these days thanks in part to the popularity of HBO's "Game of Thrones" and it's dragon-friendly heroine, Daenerys Targaryen. But to me, no sky-swooping dragon will ever soar as high as the original, the late great Bruce Lee. Bruce holds a very special place in my heart, as the martial-arts legend's teachings -- both philosophical and spiritual -- have influenced my life more than anyone else outside of my immediate family. Bruce Lee (Lee Jun-fan) was born in San Francisco on Nov. 27, 1940. He did some childhood acting before attending college at the University of Washington, where his ambition to teach martial arts blossomed.

Bruce Lee in "Enter the Dragon" |
Bruce died young, at the tender age of 32, not long after making the Hollywood blockbuster "Enter the Dragon." And although Bruce's life was cut short, his legacy has lived on, a legacy carried further by the efforts of his equally remarkable daughter, Shannon. You can expect to read more about Bruce in future posts, as I am not shy about my lifelong respect for the martial-arts icon. But for now, let's take a look at a few terrific Bruce Lee collectibles, of which there are very, very many.

Bruce Lee poster by Joshua Budich |
Hey, look, it's Joshua Budich again! You can expect to see that name a lot on this blog, as we are both big fans of the artist's incredible work. Here Budich presents The Dragon in portrait style, which matches others Budich did in the same vein, including Jim Morrison, Bob Dylan and Stan Lee.
There are a wealth of other Bruce Lee collectibles available, others of which we'll explore down the road on CollecTwins. Also, you can catch a screening of "Enter the Dragon" tonight (Wed., May 11) at your local CineMark Theatre as part of CineMark's "Classic Films" series.
