Top 10 Friday... Play Ball!

From now on here at CollecTwins we'll be doing Top 10 Fridays... We'll highlight a theme, mention a couple of collectibles that relate to it somehow, and then do a "Top 10" list that's connected. It could be top 10 films, comic issues, figures, statues, books, characters - who knows? Not even us sometimes. That's the fun of it! These lists are simply our personal favorites and totally opinion based; so post any comments on what you think we missed, what we were crazy to put on the list in the first place, or simply your thoughts...

To honor Jackie Robinson who broke down huge walls on April 15th, 1947 when he stepped onto the field as a Brooklyn Dodger for the first time - and the fact we're headlong into the beginning of the baseball season; today's theme is, you guessed it, America's past time. And although there are PLENTY of baseball collectibles out there (signed bats and balls, cards, etc.) we are going to go outside the batter's box slightly with three collectibles...  and then on to the Top 10 - Top Baseball Movies!!

First, the collectibles...

McFarlane Toys Jackie Robinson figure (2006)
McFarlane Toys Jackie Robinson figure
We had to put something Jackie on the list, and McFarlane Toys is bar-none when it comes to figure design and production. They are always super detailed, with great poses and this figure is no different. It will run you about $50 on eBay right now.

Madballs Screamin' Meemie (1985)
Madballs Screamin' Meemie
We love Madballs. They represent a great time in our youth and were just a really fun, somewhat obscure, push-the-envelope gross toy line from the 80's. This is their crazy baseball, Screamin' Meemie...

Hardball GI Joe figure (1988)
Hardball G.I. Joe figure
GI Joe's ball player was released in 1988. He can be found carded (MOC for those in the know...) for around $80 or so on eBay.

Now, on to the
