Run, Looney, Run

In honor of the Boston Marathon I thought today would be a good day for a first of what is sure to be many posts on some of our favorite characters in pop culture and comic books: the runners. We'll get into some of the comic book runners in a later blog; for today the focus is on two of our favorite runners from cartoons, specifically the Looney Tunes you'll never catch - Speedy Gonzales and The Road Runner.

Here are a few cool collectibles from these two 'toons...

Warner Bros. Speedy Gonzales Statue (2000)
Speedy Gonzalez statue by Warner Bros.
This rare piece is huge at 16.5 inches tall, and will cost you a pretty penny on eBay.

Tyco Road Runner Figures (1993 and 1994)

Tyco made virtually the whole run of Looney Tunes as figures back in the early '90s. You can find a lot of the MOCs on eBay at around $15 each. Loose ones are much cheaper.

Pepsi Road Runner and Speedy Gonzales Glasses (1973)

Speedy Gonzalez and Road Runner glasses (1973)
Pepsi made 18 of the Looney Tunes as glasses back in the early 70's. You can pick them up for around $10 a glass on eBay or at the occasional flea market or toy show.

Popfun Toon Tumblers (2015)
Speedy Gonzalez Toon Tumbler
Road Runner Toon Tumbler
These Toon Tumblers you can often find at your local comic shop. Way cool pint glasses, best way to have a beer (or juice).

That's all for now folks!
