Say it ain't Snow

WARNING: This post contains SPOILERS for the past seasons of "Game of Thrones," so if you're not caught up, you may want to stop reading.

Do you hear that buzz? It's the sound of millions of "Game of Thrones" fans holding their collective breaths as the fate of Jon Snow prepares to play out. The mega-popular HBO series, based on author George R.R. Martin's brilliant books, returns this Sunday, April 24. The predominant question on the minds of fans is what will happen to Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), a perennial fan favorite and key character from the novels who was brutally stabbed and apparently killed at the hands of his Night's Watch brothers in the season 5 finale.

It can be argued that Snow is THE most important character in Martin's books, aside from perhaps Daenerys Targaryen (Bran and Arya Stark are major players, too), so it seems unlikely that the character will be callously killed off without hope for a revival or rebirth of some sort. Still, Martin is known to kill off his characters with little warning, as was the case for Ned Stark, who was beheaded at the end of season 1, and Robb Stark, who was murdered in season 3 during the "Red Wedding." But Snow's unexplained parentage and spiritual relationship with the direwolf, Ghost, should give fans hope that Snow's story is far from over.
