There are two Dr. McCoys in the pop culture world: Hank (aka Beast of X-Men fame) and Leonard (the Star Trek Enterprise's resident medic). I'm sure we'll discuss Dr. Hank McCoy at some point down the road on this blog, but for now we'll gear up for Friday's release of "Star Trek Beyond" by spending the week boldly exploring Star Trek characters and some of their out-of-this-world collectibles. First up, Dr. Leonard McCoy, otherwise known as "Bones."

DeForest Kelley in "Star Trek" |
"Lord of the Rings" alum Karl Urban has done an impressive job carrying the torch from DeForest Kelley, who played the rough-around-the-edges Doctor in the original "Star Trek" television series and a handful of feature films (Kelley died in 1999, may he rest in peace). So what say we examine a few Leonard McCoy goodies...?

Dr. McCoy figure by Mego |
The uber-collectible Mego action figures from the 1970s are difficult to track down, especially carded and in good condition. Dr. McCoy was one of several Star Trek characters Mego released and they produced different versions on varrying cards. The McCoy Mego figure will run you anywhere from $25 to over $100 depending on condition and version.
