TMNT Out of the Shadows Week: Baxter Stockman

Baxter Stockman is the "mad scientist" type from the TMNT universe responsible for the creation of the mousers and also being known as the cartoon version of Jeff Goldblum or David Hedison (the actors who played The Fly on film for those wondering...)

Tyler Perry will bring Baxter Stockman to screen tomorrow - and we'll see what the filmmakers decide to do with him. For today, let's check out some Baxter-related collectibles...

Baxter Stockman's First Appearance
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #2 by Mirage (1984)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #2

OK, so this book is rare and valuable on its own, and it really has more to do with the fact that it's the second Turtle issue ever, and less to do with Baxter Stockman. First and second printings go for big bucks if you can track one down. PS - Also the first appearance of April O'Neil and the Mousers.

Baxter Stockman Figures by Playmates (1989 & 2013)

Baxter Stockman figure (Nickelodeon version) by Playmates
Two variations of Baxter Stockman... The '80s cartoon version from the first run of TMNT figures is the rarer and much pricier figure of Baxter after his "Fly" episode.
The second figure from 2013 depicts him as he's seen in the current Nickelodeon run of the Turtles and is easy to find.

Mouser figures by Mondo (2016)

These Mouser figures by Mondo are currently still available through their website, but the exclusive version is long gone.

SDCC Exclusive Mouser Statue by Sideshow Collectibles (2010)
Mouser comiquette by Sideshow Collectibles
This mouser comiquette matched up with an incredible line of statues from Sideshow that included all four turtles and Shredder. Limited to 250 pieces. Sold out now but sometimes shows up on eBay.

That's it for today. Join us tomorrow for our Top 10 Friday and more Turtle Power!
