Shoryuken!

With Warcraft releasing this week we've decided to spend a few days focusing on a few of our favorite video game franchises that have left a slew of cool collectibles in their wake. Honestly, video games have played a huge part of pop culture since pings were ponging and a guy named Pac-Man was eating everything in sight. So we're going to talk video games a lot more on this blog to be sure.
World of Warcraft became a phenomenon as it took role-playing computer games to a new level and made a major impact on the video game world. But we won't spend too much time on World of Warcraft this week, a little on Thursday - instead, we'll devote time to some other unforgettable games...

We'll start with the incomparable Street Fighter II. Easily one of our favorite games of all time, Street Fighter II basically single-handedly spawned the fighting game epidemic and it's ripples are still felt today more than 20 years after it's creation. We love the Street Fighter franchise so much this will only be the first of hopefully many posts on Ryu and the gang.
Without further ado, here are some great Street Fighter II collectibles...

Street Fighter II vinyl mini-figures by Kidrobot (2011)

Kidrobot has been creating awesome vinyl toys for years now, and their licenses range from The Simpsons to Looney Tunes. They did two waves of blind box series Street Fighter II figures. No longer available through the kidrobot website but can be found on Amazon, eBay and at toy shows and other toy sites. Will run you about $10 each, unless it's a chase figure of course.

Ken Masters GI Joe figure from Hasbro (1993)

GI Joe did a slew of Street Fighter characters as Joe's back in 1993 when the game was riding high in popularity. A carded Ken will run you about $30 on eBay right now, give or take.

Vega statue by Pop Culture Shock Collectibles (2016)

Pop Culture Shock is at the top of their game right now, and are high on our list of best statue producers in the biz. Their Street Fighter statues are bar-none. This Vega statue is still available on Pop Culture Shock's website for $409.99. The exclusive versions are sold out.

Ryu screen print by Joshua Budich/Gallery 1988 (2012)

Part of a Gallery 1988 exhibit from a few years back, the incomparable Joshua Budich pulls off Ryu in classic form.

See y'all tomorrow for more video game hysteria!
