Captain America Civil War Week: Scarlet Witch

In continuation of our focus on characters from the upcoming mega blockbuster "Captain America: Civil War," we'll take a look at the original "Red Woman," Scarlet Witch. Portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen ("Godzilla"), first in a post-credit sequence in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and then prominently in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Wanda Maximoff, aka The Scarlet Witch, started her career as a villain. Wanda is the daughter of X-Men baddie Magneto and twin sister to Marvel speedster, Quicksilver.

The Scarlet Witch made her first appearance in the rare and valuable X-Men #4 (garbed in green rather than red) and officially joined The Avengers in Avengers #16. Here's a look at some hot Scarlet Witch collectibles.

The Vision and The Scarlet Witch limited series (1985)

The Vision and the Scarlet Witch #1
This playful 12-issue limited series from writer Steve Englehart and artist Richard Howell followed a previous four-issue series about the duo. The romance between the Vision (an android) and the Scarlet Witch (a mutant) proved unique and long-lasting, and stretched through mini series such as this, as well as numerous Avengers issues.

Marvel Legends Infinite Series Scarlet Witch, Hasbro (2015)

Marvel Legends Infinite Series Scarlet Witch
Part of the collectible Marvel Legends action figure line from Hasbro, the Scarlet Witch features multiple articulation points and quality packaging akin to others in the Infinite Series group. The build-a-figure piece that comes along with Wanda is Odin's all-important head.

Scarlet Witch statue, Bowen Designs (2005)

Scarlet Witch, Bowen Designs
Bowen Designs put out three Scarlet Witch statues and one mini bust, but our favorite is this full size sculpture from 2005. The museum-style statue measures 12" and is limited to 1,500 pieces.

Check out our other "Civil War" character blogs as the movie gets ready to open wide on May 6.
