CollecTwins: Top 10 Friday... TMNT Characters

With Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows releasing in theaters today we've spent the week celebrating all things TMNT, with a focus on the TMNT world and the characters that inhabit it. A while back we posted on Raphael, and we at some point plan on posting on each turtle as well as Splinter and Shredder. When? We'll see.
For today, we decided to list our top 10 TMNT characters, including the boys in green themselves. Whether or not you agree with our list, the turtle world is here to stay and we are thrilled it is! Before the count-down, here are a few more awesome TMNT collectibles...

The first print of this comic is so rare I had a 20+ year comic book store owner tell me once that he'd never even seen one. This is one book that is sure to keep going up over the years, and if you can find even a second printing, grab it. Just be careful of fakes.

The four statues of the turtles that Sideshow Collectibles released in 2010/2011 were as impressive as polystone gets. This exclusive version of Leonardo came with an alternate head piece with blue bandana for fans of the original cartoon and was limited to 450 pieces.
Believe it or not, when Sideshow first released these they were $199 each. Now this will cost you upwards of $1000 if you can find one on the secondary market.

We would be mad at ourselves if we let this new wave of TMNT hysteria pass without mentioning the campy, but oh-so-much-fun first live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film released in 1990. The ultra-talented Rich Kelly did this awesome poster for Mondo back in 2014 in an edition of 300. Will run you about $100 on eBay these days.

Funko has made just about every imaginable license into a cute, addictive Pop! Vinyl figure. That includes all four turtles, Shredder, Splinter, April, Bebop and Rocksteady, a foot soldier and even the TMNT van (and there are a number of exclusives too). Get them at your local comic shop, a toy show, or on any number of toy sites and of course, eBay.

(Disclaimer: We only had 10 and the turtles took up four spots, so this list may just be obvious to some - and we know we're missing some great side characters like Metalhead, Mondo Gecko, Fugitoid, Leatherhead, Krang, Mutagen Man, Baxter Stockman, Genghis Frog and The Rat King. But maybe we'll save those for another list and another day!)
